Species Erina gilesi (M.R. Williams & Bollam, 2001)
- Candalides hyacinthinus gilesi Williams, M.R. & Bollam, H.H. 2001. A new subspecies of Candalides hyacinthinus (Semper) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) from Western Australia. Australian Entomologist 28: 49–54.
Generic Combinations
- Erina hyacinthinus gilesi (M.R. Williams & Bollam, 2001).
Introduction
On the basis of fundamental differences in male and female genitalic morphology (six characters), adult phenotype (nine characters), immature stages (two characters), phylogenetic pattern according to molecular data and level of pairwise divergence (2.8%) and their narrowly sympatric distributions, Braby et al. (2020) treated gilesi as a distinct species sister to E. hyacinthina.
