Subspecies Eopsaltria (Eopsaltria) australis chrysorrhoa Gould, 1869
- Eopsaltria chrysorrhos Gould, J. 1869. Descriptions of five new Species of Birds from Queensland, Australia; and a new humming-bird from the Bahamas. Annals and Magazine of Natural History 4 4: 108-112 [Date published Apr 1869] [109] [spelling of the epithet chrysorrhos, a noun in apposition, is original and accepted, inter alia, by Mathews, The Birds of Australia 8 (1919-1920) — because there is no evidence in the protologue or its index that chrysorrhos is a misspelling, it should be kept in preference to the common correction chrysorrhoa; name chosen as senior to simultaneously published Eopsaltria magnirostris Gould, 1869 by action of first reviser, A.J. Campbell, Nests and Eggs of Australian Birds (1901: 314), ICdZN Art. 24.2].
