Introduction
Members of the genus Elasmias are widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific Basin. They are exclusively arboreal, and Solem (1989) suggests that the wide distribution is partly due to man's agency whereby the species may be spread by the movement of plants. The genus differs from Tornatellinops and Tornatellides by the globosely conical shape and the presence of a columellar lamellae.
