Subspecies Edwardsina (Tonnoirina) australiensis australiensis Tillyard, 1922

  • Type data:
     Holotype ANIC adult, waterfalls along Digger's Creek, from 4500 to 5500 feet, on Mt Kosciusko, NSW.
    Paratype(s) BMNH adults; AM adults; ANIC (the two `paratypes' in the ANIC are syntypes of Edwardsina (Tonnoirina) tillyardi Tonnoir, 1923; number of paratypes originally lodged in the ANIC unknown).
  • Type data:
     Syntype(s) ANIC adults (number of specimens in original syntype series unknown; according to Zwick, P. 1977. Australian Blephariceridae (Diptera). Australian Journal of Zoology, Supplementary Series 46: 1–121 [64] they are part of the type series of Edwardsina (Tonnoirina) australiensis Tillyard, 1922—i.e. they were misidentified originally. However, the holotype of Edwardsina (Tonnoirina) australiensis Tillyard, 1922 is not the male syntype of Edwardsina (Tonnoirina) tillyard Tonnoir, 1923 as was stated), Kosciusko, NSW.
