  Type data:

   Lectotype 1968252, "Australia, probably southern shores"
  Comment: Author G. Malcolm (pers. comm. 2013) indicated there are 3 types in NMHUK that match shells from South Africa, so the Australian locality for the type is doubtful.

Introduction

Author G. Malcolm (Pers. Comm. 2013) reports "of have not seen any specimens of typical Duplicaria fictilis from Australia. There are 3 types in NHMUK which match shells found in South Africa. The typical form is close to Terebra jacksoniana.
