Introduction
The family Discozerconidae in Australia includes one little-known species, described from specimens collected on a centipede in southeast Queensland (Domrow 1956). The correct taxonomic placement of the family, and the related family Heterozerconidae, has not yet been established, and the Infraorder Heterozerconina as used here must be regarded as provisional (Lindquist et al. 2009). The family is easily recognised by the pair of large ventral suckers, which are used to attach the mite to its host. Nothing is known of the biology of these species.
