Holotype TMH K293 mature specimen (dissected), Marlborough Highway, near Bronte, Central Tasmania [42°10'S 146°30'E]. - Perionychella (Vesiculodrilus) hobartensis part Jamieson, B.G.M. 1974. The indigenous earthworms (Megascolecidae: Oligochaeta) of Tasmania. Bulletin of the British Museum (Natural History) Zoology 26: 201-328 [241-245] [Blakemore removed one specimen (TM K293) from the nominate species to his new Vesiculodrilus bronte; however, since this was not part of the type series, it is doubtful that this is a synonym].
