Species Diporiphora amphiboluroides Lucas & Frost, 1902

Mulga Dragon

Introduction

Doughty et al. (2012) do not consider the morphological characters of Caimanops strong enough to separate from Diporiphora, and molecular analyses confirm this view. Moreover – given the present species assemblage – recognising Caimanops would make Diporiphora paraphyletic. Cogger (2014) retains Caimanops amphiboluroides pending further research.
