Introduction
Analysis by Morrow et al., 2019 has seen this species re-instated under the resurrected family Desmoxyidae (Poecilosclerida). This was based on investigation of the raphides which suggested an affinity with Tedaniidae, and meant the species was moved out of Heteroxyidae (Axinellida).
