Species Demodex musculi Oudemans, 1937
Introduction
Demodex musculi is a parasite of the house mouse, and occurs in laboratory mouse populations. Izdebska & Rolbiecki (2015) recorded this little-known species from Australia without explanation. Despite a search of published and unpublished sources, I have not been able to trace the origin of this record. The presence of this species in Australia must be considered as unconfirmed.
