Family DAVACARIDAE Kethley, 1977
Introduction
Walter (2004) revised the family Davacaridae, and recorded two genera and four species that occur on subantarctic islands and in eastern Australia. Three species occur in Australia, in leaf litter and moss in temperate and subtropical rainforests. Walter (2004) kept one species alive in laboratory culture, but was unable to confirm the details of its feeding. The subantarctic species Davacarus gressitti has been found in nests of a variety of sea birds.
