Amsterdam Baalde and Utrecht : Wild Vol. 1(1–7) 1–132 pls 1–84 pp. [issued 1775, dated 1775-1790] [111] [issued 1775, dated 1775–1790, see International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature 1958. Opinion 516. Determination under the plenary powers of the relative precedence to be assigned to certain works on the Order Lepidoptera (Class Insecta) published in 1775 by Pieter Cramer, Michael Denis & Ignaz Schiffermüller, Johann Christian Fabricius, Johann Casper Fuessly, and S.A. von Rottemburg respectively. Type data: lectotype whereabouts unknown *; Cramer in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described.
Subsequent designation: Hemming, F. 1964. Annotationes Lepidopterologicae. London : Hepburn & Sons Pts 3–5 [73]–180 vii pp. [105] (designated as lectotype 'the specimen' figured by Cramer, pl. 70 fig. E).
Type locality: Ambon, Indonesia. West Indies (in original description, but clearly an incorrect locality), see Fruhstorfer, H. 1915. Neue Formen der Gattung Thysonotis und Aufzählung der bekannten Rassen auf Grund morphologischer Untersuchungen. Societas Entomologica. Stuttgart 30: 49–52 [51] (gave Ambon as the type locality); Hirowatari, T. 1992. A generic classification of the Tribe Polyommatini of the Oriental and Australian Regions (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae, Polyommatini). Bulletin of the University of Osaka Prefecture B 44: 1–102 [26] (gave Ambon as the type locality).
