Diagnosis

Amoebozoans with somewhat flattened locomotive forms; typically broader anteriorly, with tapering 'finger-like' subpseudopodia (dactylopodia) emerging from the cell-wide lobopodium. At the ultrastructural level, fibrillar surface layer (glycocalyx), with embedded scales characteristic of some genera. Most species lack cysts. Monophyletic by ribosomal gene sequences.
