Ecological Descriptors

Arboreal, closed forest, diurnal, frugivorous, granivore, gregarious, nomadic, open forest, volant.

Extra Ecological Information

Seasonal breeder(?), sexually dimorphic, in rainforests and broadleaf scrubs, feeds arboreally on fruit, mainly figs, often flocks in small groups, flies swiftly and directly through and over forest canopy, nests on bed of wood dust/debris in tree holes, incubation by female, the female rears the whitish-downed, flesh-billed chick assisted by male, wanders locally to seasonal food sources, entering open forests to feed on isolated figs and other fruit trees.
