Introduction

This subtribe was defined by Holynski (1988) exclusively for the genus Curis Gory & Laporte, 1838. In a subsequent work (Holynski 1989), he discussed Curis as having two subgenera: C. (Curis) restricted to Australia and C. (Ctenoderus) restricted to the Patagonian region of southern South America.

Curis was last revised by Carter (1928) and new species were described by Obenberger (1956). The only earlier revision was by Fairmaire (1877).
