Ecological Descriptors

Adult: pest (associated flora: Eucalyptus fasciculosa F.Muell., 1855 [MYRTACEAE] Pink Gum), volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult a common day-biting species that attacks humans; abundant in upland forests with high rainfall; localised pest in some forested areas; larva found in subterranean pools in the tunnels of land crayfish (Engaeus spp.).
