Extra Ecological Information
Adult does not attack humans but feeds on rabbits; adults occasionally collected in dry-ice baited traps; possible vector of myxomatosis in southern and east Victoria; larva found in shaded ground pools (often at the base of trees), rock pools, creeklines, ditches, drainage pits, waterholes, wells, vegetated swamp margins, grassy and tea-tree swamps and containers.
