Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult probably does not attack humans; adults taken rarely in dry-ice baited traps; larva found in large, vegetated ground pools such as open, freshwater sedge and tea-tree swamps and peaty depressions along their margins, marshes, ponds with vegetated edges, in creeklines and smaller pools with emergent and floating vegetation.
