   Holotype AM ♂ adult (Taylor noted that the type male was 'in coll. Ferguson', but it is not present in the Ferguson collection or among the Taylor material currently held in ANIC, see Lee et al. (1988); according to Cox (pers. comm. 2014) the type is in AM), Milson Island, Hawkesbury River, NSW.
  Paratype(s) whereabouts unknown ♀ adult, Milson Island, Hawkesbury River, NSW.

Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult does not bite humans; larva found in freshwater ground and rock pools, often in association with vegetation and filamentous algae (Spirogyra), creeklines, brackish lagoons, swamps in hill forests, backwater pools, shaded ground pools with emergent and floating vegetation and drainage ditches.
