Adult does not attack humans in nature and feed on rabbits; larva found in rocky valleys, in shallow cool, clean, backwater pools shaded by trees and ground pools exposed to sun; adults common and numerous near larval habitats; adults found resting in dark recesses in a stream bank, rabbit burrows and in rocks.
