Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult a vicious daytime biter; adults collected from animal-baited traps; larva found in semi-permanent, vegetated ground pools such as freshwater sedge and tea-tree swamps and peaty depressions along their margins, grassy pools, shallow seepages, spring-fed ponds and drainage ditches.
