Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult female bites humans and dogs; larva found in swampy areas beneath Melaleuca [Myrtaceae] and Pandanus [Pandanaceae] with dense aquatic vegetation and algae, shaded pool beneath freshwater mangrove with organic debris, a side pool, dense water hyacinths on a waterhole and lagoons.
