Adult rarely bites humans; larva found in permanent and semi-permanent ground water collections with green filamentous algae, mosses, grasses and other aquatic vegetation such as transient pools, tree holes, rock crevices, rock and stream pools, marshy depressions, broken bamboo and artificial containers such as drains, wells and ditches.
