Family Cryptophialidae Gerstaecker, 1870

Diagnosis

Alimentary canal with gut teeth (gizzard); mouth cirrus atrophied or absent; labrum large, attenuated relative to rest of weak mouthparts; burrow aperture nearly round, slightly tapered; 3 or 4 paris of terminal cirri; caudal appendage absent; lateral bars present; free cyprid larva only.
