While the genitalia of the two species are distinct there are no reliable characters permitting separation of the adults on external features. C. acronyctoides Walker, C. applicata (Walker, 1858), C. lignificta (Walker, 1869) and C. indistincta (Walker, 1865) were all described from specimens originating at Brisbane. The synonymy presented here should be considered as tentative)
