Species Crenavolva renovata (Iredale, 1930)

Introduction

Lorenz & Fehse (2009) treat this species as a nomen dubium and because the holotype is in poor condition. They state that it may be the same species as Cuspivolva tigris (Yamamoto, 1971) or Cuspivolva draperi Cate & Azuma in Cate 1973, “or even a malformed Crenavolva”. Given that C. renovata is possibly an earlier name that either of the two possible synonyms suggested by Lorenz & Fehse (2009), we tentatively list this species as valid pending further study
