Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

 

Diagnosis

Female. A very pale, relatively large species; wing length 2.0-2.0, mean 2.00 mm; hind femur 1 .0-1.1, mean 1.06 mm (3 specimens).
Head Mouthparts relatively weakly sclerotised, but hypopharynx and mandibles with normal toothed margins, visible in whole mounts without special dissection. fs ratio 1.8-1.9, mean 1.87 (3 specimens).
Thorax very pale brown on dorsum and pleura.
Legs very pale, lacking the usual subapical banding on femur and tibia.
Wing very pale, but with a very faint dark area over base of Rs. afc ratio 1.2-1.3, mean 1.28; pfc
ratio 0.9-1.0, mean 0.93 (3 specimens).
Abdomen like the rest of the body, extremely pale.
Male. Not known.
