Introduction

This species was described from Mittagong in the Sydney Basin of New South Wales. Fennah (1965) extended the known distribution to locations in SE and North Queensland and the North Island of New Zealand.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Short winged form similar to algebra, but the white apical margin of the tegmina is very narrow, and the male genitalia are very different. Male pygophor suboval, margins sinuate. Aedeagus horizontal, elongate. Genital styles inwardly curved, the apices truncate, angles prominent and acute, or subacute. Length 1.5 mm. (Kirkaldy 1907)
