Introduction
Native to Indo-northwest Pacific but introduced to the Americas and Europe where it can be a serious pest species. Known only from dead shells in Australia collected from central NSW and thus appears not to have established. Dead shells from Maroubra, NSW were the basis of the description of Corbiculina maroubra Iredale,1943. See Ponder et al (2016) for further details.
