Species Coccus praetermissus Lin & Tanaka, 2017

Introduction

"Coccus praetermissus sp. n. is morphologically very similar to C. hesperidum and it might be difficult to distinguish them if good slide mounts of adult females are not available. Therefore, we recommend that both morphological (having dorsal setae with blunt apices) and molecular (COI DNA) data should be used when an authoritative identification is required" (Lin & Tanaka 2017)
