Diagnosis

Emeljanov (1997) gave a highly detailed morphological description of the genus. In the context of the Australian Dictyopharidae, the genus is easy to identify using the following combination of features: the tegmina are brachypterous, about as long as wide, exposing most of the abdomen; the head extends in front of the eyes and is lined with distinct carinae; the fore femora and tibiae are foliately expanded.
