Introduction
em>Briansmithia clarkensis is distinguished from B. jackstirlingi and Strangesta confusa by the smaller size and weaker radial sculpture. This species is largely confined to the upper reaches of the Clarke Range, mid-east Queensland.

Litter-dwelling, rainforest, under logs.
Diagnosis
Shell medium-sized to large, yellow to yellowish-brown, subglobose with a domed spire; protoconch smooth apart from a few oblique striations at the end, teleoconch sculpture of weak radial ribs above intersected by discontinuous spiral grooves and oblique incised lines giving the shell a malleated appearance, smooth and shiny below; umbilicus deep V-shaped; diameter 26.5mm.
