  Type data:

   Lectotype BMNH ♀, Australia (as Nova Hollandia) (collected on Cook's first voyage it may have come from any of his stopping places along the eastern coast of Australia but probably came from Cooktown, Qld, where most of the Australian insects were collected).

   Status unknown, whereabouts unknown sex unknown (described from the Francillon collection the type could possibly be in the Macleay Museum unrecognised), Eastern Australia (as New South Wales).

Transactions of the Entomological Society of London 2 3(8): 281-300, pl. 18 [Date published April 1856] [295] [an unjustified emendation of Tortrix bimaculana Donovan, 1805 with the same type material].
