Introduction

This species is sometimes erroneously dated as 1849 or 1851, and the original citation is sometimes given as Systematisches Conchylien-Cabinet von Martina und Chemnitz 2(3): 140, pl. 24, fig. 1. This is incorrect, because p. 140 and pl. 24 were issued in different years. Conchchylien Cabinet was issued as small sections (Lieferung) which were later bound into parts of volumes. A bound part would then consist of lieferung issues over a range of years. To give the year of publication of a species precisely it is necessary to determine the lieferung number and its year of publication, not only the volume and part. Chlorodiloma adelaidae was first published as figure and name in Lieferung 76 which consisted only of plates, issued in 1848. As this constitutes a valid description under the code, this is the date of publication of the species. The text description was issued in Lieferung 101 published in 1851.

The dates of publication of the Lieferung of Systematisches Conchylien-Cabinet von Martina und Chemnitz are given by Welter-Schultes (1999).
