Introduction
The Choristidae is an endemic family of three genera, restricted to south-eastern mainland Australia. Adults are of medium size (forewing length around 13–17 mm), with wings having an open venation with numerous cross-veins and RS four-branched.
Adults emerge in late summer and autumn and are generally observed in flight in moist, grassy situations. Eggs are laid in moist soil and the eruciform larvae live in soft soil or litter where they feed on vegetable debris, moss and lichens. Pupation occurs in the soil.
