Family CHARONTIDAE

Compiler and date details

31 December 2002 - Mark S. Harvey, Western Australian Museum, Perth, Western Australia 6000, Australia

Introduction

The Charontidae have been delimited recently to only two genera, Charon and Stygophrynus, by Quintero (1986). Both genera are found in South-East Asia, but Charon is now known to occur in northern Australia and on the Australian Indian Ocean territory of Christmas Island (Harvey & West 1998).
