Introduction

On the advice of Dr.A.G. Beu, this name is probably not valid for the Australian taxon identified as subgranosa Sowerby. However, the taxonomic details are as yet unresolved. It is possible that an earlier name may be granosa Martin, 1884, based on a fossil from Java.
