Diagnosis
Beroidae with the body miter-shaped, egg-shaped, or conical; with the posterior end of the body smoothly rounded, not extended into lobes; with the polar-plate surrounding the sense-organ at the aboral pole is fringed with a row of branched papillae; with the canal system of the two sides of the body separated and not in communication.
