Diagnosis
Megascolecidae with an oesophageal gizzard in VIII and intestinal caeca originating in XXV; intestinal gizzards absent. Body cylindrical, setae perichaetin, never excessively crowded ventrally, creeping sole absent. Male pores superficial, never within copulatory pouches. Crescentic genital markings usually associated with the male pores of mature individuals. Metandric.
