Introduction
The shell of bullinid species has a short spire as in acteonids but is light and thin as in aplustrids. It is usually white in colour with red spiral and axial bands. The animal is usually translucent white with brightly pigmented margins. An operculum is present, hardly filling the shell aperture. Bullinids are epifaunal animals, often seen crawling in lower intertidal pools in New South Wales.
