Introduction

Austrorhytida barringtoniana is distinguished by the pale yellow shell with very distinct reddish-brown radial streaks. The animal is grey-brown with a pale dorsal stripe and foot edge, and has a bright orange mantle.

Diagnosis

Shell, medium-sized, yellow with prominent reddish-brown radial streaks to allover reddish-brown, subdiscoidal; protoconch with vague radial ribs and microspiral striae, teleoconch sculptured with prominent radial ribs; umbilicus wide, cup-shaped; diameter 20mm.
