Introduction

In addition to the named species listed here, unidentified species of Arrenurus have been reported from Australia by Malipatil & Blyth (1982), Kitching & Callaghan (1982), Fulton (1983), Kitching & Pimm (1985), Smit (1992), Storey et al. (1993) and Williams & Proctor (2002). Some authors have divided Arrenurus into a complex system of subgenera, as reviewed by Harvey (1998), but I have made no attempt to allocate the Australian species to subgenera.
