East Africa, tropical Indo-West Pacific, Central and East Indian Ocean; Bieler, 1993: distribution map fig. 54, p. 70. 'Indian Ocean to central Pacific (uncertain about QLD, Australia)'. Occurrence in Australia is uncertain; see Bieler (1993: 69). No specimens have been identified in the Australian Museum as at September 2011.
