Comment: Semper in the original description mentioned two females, and that the other female was in the Staudinger collection; Druce, H.H. 1902. On some new and little-known butterflies of the family Lycaenidae from the African, Australian and Oriental Regions. Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1902(1): 112–121 pls 11, 12 [119] (stated that the type specimens were in the Godeffroy Museum but he used the plural types). - Lycaenesthes turneri Miskin, W.H. 1890. Descriptions of hitherto undescribed Australian Lepidoptera (Rhopalocera) principally Lycaenidae. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 2 5(1): 29-43 [publication date: Anon. 1929. Comment: Miskin in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described but three localities were mentioned; Hancock, D.L. 1995. The butterfly types of W. H. Miskin in the Queensland Museum (Lepidoptera). Memoirs of the Queensland Museum 38(2): 519–528 [525] (located four syntypes in the QM and gave type information).
