Taxonomic Notes

The WA specimens differ from the Japanese type in size, dorsal trunk segmentation, and shape of cement glands. The WA and Japanese specimens may be two different species.

Child (1998C) provides a list of 21 species of Anoplodactylus arranged by number of cement gland openings. Anoplodactylus pycnosoma falls into the second category: cement glands with three-six openings per femur.
