Introduction

Raised to full species status by Black et al. (2010), following molecular analyses 'of populations of Flinders Ranges, Lake Frome Basin and north-east of Lake Eyre, in South Australia' (presumably other possible subspecies of modestus they state '… incompletely evaluated'). However, the revision of Christidis et al. (2013) is now followed.
