Holotype NMV J13954 ♀ ovigerous (11.7 mm, 9 eggs), 1 km off bay on north shore of Flinders Island, Investigator Group, SA, 20 m [33°41'S 134°31'E].
Paratype(s) NMV J13955 ♂ (8.4 mm); NMV J13956 30 specimens; AM P37117 30 specimens; SAMA C5971 10 specimens.

Extra Distribution Information
Southern Australia, from Botany Bay, New South Wales to King George Sound, Western Australia. Except for a few records from 80–125 m off eastern Bass Strait and the Tasmanian coast, it occurs in shallow water, 1–30 m depth.
