Introduction
Allenella is confined to Lord Howe Island and is readily distinguished from Semilaoma by the strongly cancellate sculpture and brownish coloured shell.

Diagnosis
Shell very small to small, depressedly to globosely turbinate with moderately raised spire, whorls angulate to rounded; protoconch with strong spiral lirae, teleoconch sculpture of crowded radial ribs or growth lines and fairly prominent raised spiral lines; umbilicus narrow U-shaped. Colour dark resinous brown to pale fawn.
