Adult day-biting and attacks humans; pest nuisance in eastern and southern Victoria and eastern Tasmania; isolation of Ross River virus from specimens collected in eastern Tasmania; larva found in ground pools containing leaves and twigs but usually without vegetation and pits at the base of uprooted trees in woodland.
