Adult: pest, volant.
Larva: aquatic.
Extra Ecological Information
Adult collected in stable and light traps; major pest following extensive rain or flooding; isolation of Ross River virus from collections in the Murray Valley, VIC; adults are day-biting in forest country and attracted to cattle, dogs, pigs, humans, kangaroos and fowl; larvae and pupae found in overflow of a bore and windmill, culverts, drains and swamp areas.
